Since starting in 2016 the start-up has helped connect doctors with over million patients for virtual consultation using its (DIM) Direct Instant Messaging app OnDoctor and Facebook messaging services. Additionally, the OnDoctor uses its strong social media presence to promote contents on primary and preventive care targeting seasonal disease outbreaks and issues like women healthcare and sexual education which is often not talked about in the conservative Myanmar society.

OnDoctor uses 2 communication channels to connect patients with healthcare providers. Its official Facebook page and its OnDoctor app. On its Facebook page, OnDoctor has engagement with its 1.4 million flowers. The OnDoctor health administrations who are General Practitioners and healthcare professionals send and receive over 3 million messages each year. The quality for the contents and health consultation provided by OnDoctor follows a strict code of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) prepared by our partner Hexagon Medical Education Centre. Hexagon Medical Education Centre is operated by one of the most recognized members of MRCGP (members of the royal college of general practitioners) in Myanmar. OnDoctor practices “Standardized Health Message” for communication that is recognized as the standard for medical communication practice in Myanmar and is published by the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) of Myanmar. OnDoctor ensures that all the doctors giving consultation to its users are registered doctors of Myanmar Medical Council (MMC). OnDoctor has reported its procedures and practices to the MMC.

Because of this quality control, OnDoctor was recognized and asked by Ministry of health and sports, Department of Medical Research to use the OnDoctor app for cancer registry project in Hlegu Township in Myanmar. It was also asked by the Ministry of Health and Sports to design posters for health literacy. In the wake of COVID-19, OnDoctor partnered with MOHS to promote the importance of washing hands and good hygiene by producing songs and videos inviting well-known artists. In the tablets and mobiles issued by Myanmar Government for health assistants and midwives, OnDoctor health literacy contents and its apps are pre-installed into the devices by the Ministry.
